Improve health inequalities across your service
Hammersmith, Fulham, Ealing and Hounslow (HFEH) Mind is a charity in West London covering 4 boroughs. They rely heavily on the data they collect to ensure equal support amongst all of their communities and improve outcomes for patients.
It was really important for them to gather qualitative data around health inequalities, not just anecdotal evidence. Having a system like iaptus enables identification of trends within communities such as ethnicity and location. This allows them to provide justification for more targeted projects and services for those individuals.
The challenge
HFEH Mind identified that a lot of marginalised communities were not accessing early intervention help, and would show up later in the service for more acute mental health issues. The charity also found that there is still a lot of stigma in marginalised communities around access to early intervention mental health support.
The solution
Various dashboards within iaptus help to collect and analyse referral data and view patients accessing their services, by location, age, sex or ethnicity. This can help them to identify groups that are underrepresented compared to the local population and may be experiencing barriers to accessing services. These insights can help teams to prioritise actions and service improvements.
